Frequently asked questions

How many machines can one licence be used on?
Each key activates on 1 machine. You can move it to another PC anytime using the “Deactivate” button in the app to free the key, then activate on the new machine.
Does it search network drives too?
Yes. Malvicsearch searches your local drives and network drives, NAS and file servers (UNC paths like \\server\share) — all included in the one licence. Just add your network locations in the app.
Do I need an internet connection to use it?
No. Malvicsearch runs entirely offline. You only need the internet once, to activate your key; after that it works with no connection.
Which Windows versions are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). It’s fastest on NTFS drives, and even faster when launched as Administrator.
Is any of my data sent anywhere?
No. The file index stays entirely on your machine. We don’t collect file names or contents. During activation the app only sends a hashed machine ID and your licence key.
